The Reedley Little League Orioles remain undefeated in Reedley’s Little League with a clean record of 18-0-0.

Javier Lizaola, manager of the Orioles, is feeling pretty confident of their team as they make their way to playoffs and still remaining undefeated. “Just because I’m the manager doesn’t mean nothing to me, it’s all of us (coaches) working together.”

The Orioles still has 2 more games left, including their playoff game scheduled for May 28th.

“We didn’t look too excited today since we have more left to do. We’re not done yet and we have something to finish.” Javier Lizaola is pretty determined that the coaching staff and himself are not content yet.

Braden Ortiz, #2 -- Ortiz is a Pitcher, 1st Baseman, and a Pitcher for the Orioles.

Braden Ortiz is a pitcher, first baseman, and a center fielder for the Orioles. Ortiz feels confident about winning the championships a few years back, and he also hopes for the same this year as well. “I play center field because there’s a lot of action over there and pitching you don’t get that much action.”

Scott Dutcher is a catcher, infielder, outfielder, and a third baseman for the Orioles. Dutcher feels great that his team, Orioles, remain undefeated this year for making it this far, even if they have a younger (team members) they are still doing good.

Team work and decent communication skills is what led the Orioles at this point, the team feels good about themselves as they remain undefeated throughout the whole season.

Scott Dutcher, #22 -- Dutcher is a Catcher, 3rd Baseman, Infielder and an Outfielder for the Orioles.

“We got two more games, two games to finish, and we want to finish strong.” Lizaola stated before the start of their game that night. “I’ve seen some growth with these kids, an increase in performance. We have six coaches, and if it’s just one or two of us, it’s pretty difficult. We’ve all done a great job the season, and to all of us. All the glory goes to all of us.”

(Playoff games are set to be scheduled on May 28th, information based on final scores and stats will be available on next week’s publication of The Sports Plug.)
