Little League playoffs to contest

With a tough match for both games, Diamondbacks vs. Giants and Orioles vs. Reds, all teams contested on an intense match to secure a spot in the championships this Saturday at Camacho Park.


Diamondbacks vs. Giants:


The Giants defeated the Diamondbacks 9-6 to secure their spot to championships.

On the top of the first inning, the Giants scored 2 runs with Keizo Arakawa making the first run and followed on by Elijah Garay. Luke Gonzalez and Austin Rodriguez struck out, RJ Ruiz with a flyout over right field, and Liam Masaoka got out on second. Bottom of the first, the Dbacks scored 3 runs with Gage Betancourt scoring the first run followed on by Roger Torres and Cole Betancourt. Alex Rodriguez with a flyout over left field and Jacob G. out on first, and Javier P. with a struck out.


Following on to the next inning, top of the second the Giants scored no runs. Nathaniel Olvera and Ray Diaz struck out, following as Rocky Garcia walked with a bunt by Luke Gonzalez that counted the third out of the top of the second inning. On the bottom of the 2nd inning, Xavier C. had a single followed by Alex R. with a flyout to left field, Roger Torres with a flyout to third base. Gage Betancourt with a single, while Cole Betancourt struck out. Score for the inning so far is Giants 2 and Diamonbacks with 3.


On the top of the third inning, Keizo Arakawa with a single, and got out by fielder’s choice. RJ Ruiz got out by the second baseman thrown into the first baseman. Followed on by Elijah Garay with a walk and Liam Masaoka struck out, on looking. On to the bottom of the third inning, Pete Flores with a flyout to the second baseman as Javier P. struck out. Jacob G then walked with a hit by pitch. Ezra Betancourt then struck out. So far no runs scored in this inning by both teams.


As the fourth inning comes into play, the Giants scored 5 runs; Austin Rodriguez, Rocky Garcia, Ray Diaz, Luke Gonzalez, and Keizo Arakawa. Ryan Florentino with a bunt while RJ Ruiz and Liam Masaoka struck out. Transitioning to the bottom of the fourth inning, the Diamondbacks scored 2 runs; Gage Betancourt and Roger Torres, Alex R. and Roger B. both struck out as Pete Flores got out by a bunt.


Going into the sixth inning, the Giants scored 2 runs; Luke Gonzalez and Keizo Arakawa making the runs followed by two strike outs by Elijah Garay and Austin Rodriguez. Liam Masaoka with a walk and RJ Ruiz out at first base. And finally to the bottom of the sixth inning, the Diamondbacks did not make any runs as Gage Betancourt struck out as for the first out, Roger Torres out at first counting the second out, and Cole Betancourt with a pop up counting for the third out for the inning.


The match concluded to a final score of Giants 9 and Diamondbacks 6. The Giants secured their spot for playoffs and so does the Diamondbacks.


With the Diamondbacks loss, a consultation match for 3rd place will be held on June 1st at the Reedley Camacho Park. The match will be held at 5:30PM, prior to the Championship match between the Giants and Orioles.


The Giants and Orioles match will be held on the same day as well at 7:30PM.


No stats or scores were provided for the Orioles vs. Reds playoff match during press time.
